Terms and conditions governing your use of the American Impact Review website and services. Please read these terms carefully before using the Website.

1. Acceptance of Terms

American Impact Review ("AIR," "the Journal," "we," "us," or "our") is an open-access, peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary academic journal published by Global Talent Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization incorporated in the United States. The Journal is operated online at americanimpactreview.com (the "Website").

By accessing or using the Website, you ("User," "you," or "your") agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must discontinue use of the Website immediately.

These Terms of Use should be read in conjunction with our Privacy Policy and our Publication Ethics & Policies.

2. Use of the Website

2.1 Permitted Use

The Website is provided for the purpose of disseminating scholarly research, facilitating peer review, and supporting the academic publishing process. You may use the Website to:

  • Read, download, and share published articles
  • Submit manuscripts for consideration
  • Participate in the peer review process as an invited reviewer
  • Create and manage an account to access submission and editorial tools
  • Contact the editorial office

2.2 Prohibited Use

You agree not to use the Website to:

  • Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
  • Submit fraudulent, fabricated, or plagiarized research content
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your affiliation with any person or entity
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Website, other user accounts, or our systems
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or crawlers to access the Website in a manner that exceeds reasonable use or could impair site performance
  • Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any other harmful code
  • Harvest, scrape, or collect personal information of other users without their consent
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Website or its content

3. User Accounts

Certain features of the Website, including manuscript submission and reviewer participation, require you to create a user account. When you register, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information to keep it accurate and current
  • Maintain the security of your password and accept responsibility for all activities under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms of Use, are inactive for an extended period, or are associated with fraudulent or unethical activity.

4. Intellectual Property

4.1 Published Content

All articles published in American Impact Review are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). Under this license, anyone may copy, distribute, display, perform, remix, transform, and build upon the published work for any purpose, including commercially, provided that proper attribution is given to the original author(s) and the source is cited.

Authors retain copyright of their published work. By submitting a manuscript for publication, authors grant the Journal a non-exclusive license to publish, distribute, and archive the work.

4.2 Website Content

The Website design, layout, graphics, logos, trademarks, and non-article content (collectively, "Website Content") are the property of Global Talent Foundation or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or commercially exploit Website Content without our prior written permission.

4.3 Trademarks

"American Impact Review," the AIR logo, and related marks are trademarks of Global Talent Foundation. Use of these marks without prior written authorization is prohibited except as permitted for standard academic citation purposes.

5. Manuscript Submissions

By submitting a manuscript to the Journal, you represent and warrant that:

  • The work is original and has not been published previously, nor is it under consideration for publication elsewhere
  • All authors have read and approved the manuscript and agree to its submission
  • The manuscript does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party
  • All research was conducted in accordance with applicable ethical standards and legal requirements
  • All sources of funding and potential conflicts of interest have been disclosed
  • You have obtained all necessary permissions for any third-party content included in the manuscript

The Journal's editorial policies, including the peer review process, publication ethics, authorship criteria, and corrections policy, are detailed in our Publication Ethics & Policies and Author Guidelines. By submitting a manuscript, you agree to abide by these policies.

6. Article Processing Charges

American Impact Review charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) upon acceptance of a manuscript for publication. The current APC amount is published on our Policies & FAQ page. There is no fee for submitting a manuscript.

Fee waivers or discounts may be available for authors from low-income countries or those experiencing financial hardship. Waiver requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the editorial office and do not influence editorial decisions.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Website and all content, services, and materials provided through it are offered on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy of content.

While we strive to maintain high editorial standards, the Journal does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or suitability of any published content for any particular purpose. The views and opinions expressed in published articles are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Journal, its editors, or Global Talent Foundation.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Global Talent Foundation, its directors, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Website or its content.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us, if any, in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Global Talent Foundation and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your use of the Website
  • Your violation of these Terms of Use
  • Your violation of any rights of a third party, including intellectual property rights
  • Any content you submit, post, or transmit through the Website

10. External Links

The Website may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by us. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites. You acknowledge and agree that we are not liable for any damage or loss caused by or in connection with the use of any such content, goods, or services available on or through any third-party websites.

11. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide notice through the Website or via email to registered users.

Your continued use of the Website following the posting of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree to the modified terms, you should discontinue use of the Website.

12. Governing Law

These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wisconsin, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Website shall be resolved in the courts of Dane County, Wisconsin, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms of Use is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
