Abstract

The modern beauty industry continues to grow rapidly, while cosmetic products and professional makeup services have become an important part of everyday life, fashion, and media. At the same time, more attention is being paid to cosmetic safety, ingredient transparency, and the effects of beauty products on sensitive skin. This article examines the impact of common cosmetic ingredients on sensitive skin, the most frequent causes of irritation and allergic reactions, and modern approaches to cosmetic safety in the beauty industry. Special attention is given to professional makeup artistry, ingredient awareness, and safe cosmetic practices in contemporary beauty standards. Makeup artists regularly work with a wide variety of products, textures, pigments, preservatives, fragrances, and long-wear formulations that remain on the skin for extended periods of time. Fashion shows, editorial productions, backstage environments, and long shooting schedules may additionally increase skin stress and sensitivity. Today, cosmetic safety is no longer viewed only as a medical or laboratory issue: it has become an important part of professional ethics, product development, and consumer awareness within the modern beauty industry. Understanding the potential effects of cosmetic ingredients on sensitive skin is essential not only for dermatologists and manufacturers, but also for professional makeup artists, beauty educators, and industry specialists. The article reviews ingredient categories most often associated with irritation, hygiene and cross-contamination risks in professional environments, and the relationship between consumer awareness and industry responsibility.
